Social media editor
We are looking for an engaging social media editor to develop and maintain AfJEM's social media presence. In this role, you will be required to develop content, track user engagement and activity, and ensure consistency in the AfJEM brand's digital tone and image.
To ensure success as a social media editor, you should have a keen eye for detail and experience in publishing and with a variety of social media networks. A skilled social media editor should be able to effectively interpret analytics and implement social strategies that result in increased content engagement.
This is not a paid role. It is a junior editorial role with the prospect of joining the associate editorial team over time. This post will be for 12 months with a 3 month overlap with the next post holder. It is an ideal post for a junior researcher just starting out in an academic career in emergency care, global emergency medicine fellowship, or emergency medicine/ care/ nursing training departments.

- Developing and maintaining a consistent brand tone, image and style online.
- Designing social media marketing strategies and campaigns.
- Generating analytic reports and social media feedback for presentation and review.
Social media editor requirements:
- Research background in either emergency nursing, out-of-hospital emergency care or emergency medicine.
- Good knowledge of social scheduling and analytics tools such as Hootsuite, Google Analytics, and Buffer.
- Familiarity with all major social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat, and YouTube.
- Strong design knowledge and proficiency in design tools such as Photoshop and Canva is advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Additional content editor
We are looking for an additional content editor to develop AfJEM expanded content. In this role, you will be required to compile content to be published in AfJEM as regular features. This mainly include selecting and compiling Global research highlights for AfJEM.
Global research highlights are a curated compilationsof abstracts from publications in other journals (CEMJ, EMJ, Annals of EM and Emergencias) which is co-published monthly.
To ensure success as an additional content editor, you should have a keen eye for detail, experience in publishing and using word processing software such as Microsoft Word, and DropBox. A skilled additional content editor should be able to effectively interpret academic content and select the most appropriate work to share through the Global research highlights feature.
